I am having some layout issues with MOSS, I'm wondering if anyone
could help?

PROBLEM: The background color of our master page is showing through in
the datasheet view of ALL lists, making the content unreadable. The
bulk of the content of the page is in a table with a white
background.

MY OPTIONS SO FAR (as I see it):
- Change the background color of the datasheet view only, but I cannot
for the life of me find how to manipulate this. This is my preferred
option if anyone can tell me how.
- Change the background color of the whole site but this seems silly
to impact the site design just for the sake of one web part.

Any tips would be great :-)
