OK so my users log into their site - only problem is that the password
dialog keeps popping up no matter how often they enter their details,
if they cancel it, it goes away.
Solutions?
Can we start by you supplying us with some information.
1. Which SharePoint Product and especially version are your using on your
server(s).
2. Which browser (and version) is the client with the problems using (and
just in case with Operating System and which Office version).
With that info someone might be able to help you. As it is there are too
many alternatives.

It's Sharepoint portal server 2003

Any - it's the same problem if they use Windows XP or Vivsta (mostly
2), Firefox or internet explorer (5 or 6). Office 2003 and office 2007
is being used. That's why I think it must be a server-side problem?

i think it has to do with the browser settings.
Try add the site (full URL) ot both trusted and intranet site in IE!
